There's only like 5 combat missions or what? How long does it take to get faction? When will i get level 2 missions? Truthfully i just wanna kill stuff. I'll pass on anything and everything else. I'm not playing the game to mine and do any other sort of activity except kill. Been 2 weeks now and i been doing mining, courier, combat etc missions. Do i have to do 200 missions to get enough rep for level 2 missions or what. God i'm so bored of theese same 5 combat missions. Help me out here. Help me get rep or whatever it takes to get me more/different combat missions. Got a frigate, cruiser and a destroyer and i'm not about to complete the Worlds collide mission a 3rd time in a Merlin. It's pathetically easy and i'm frustratingly bored. Help as in the word HEEEEELP!!
lol thanks for replies if i get some useful ones. Ya i know it's been answered 5,000 times in the past but i'll be ****ed if i can find it after 2 hours of looking. :)

I have a very well decked out cruiser for level 2 missions if i ever get any :)
Here are a list of things that you should do to find targets more challenging:
for killing NPC: [X] Picked Navy corp [X] Picked combat agent (e.g. Command, Security, Surveillance) [ ] Trained Connections [X] Did a non-tutorial storyline mission [X] Cleared both sides of Worlds Collide without warping out [not sure] Completed a higher-rated complex without warping out [er cosmos?] Completed a COSMOS mission [ ] Completed a higher-rated mission or complex as a team [ ] Cleared belt rats in 0.3 [ ] Cleared belt rats in 0.0
(higher-rated = difficulty rating above your current ship class)
for PVP: [ ] Went to empire low sec [ ] Evaded, engaged, or participated in a gate camp [ ] Went to 0.0 [ ] Joined a pvp corp
It really sounds like i need to become a pirate for me to enjoy the game. But i don't like ****ing people off or taking advantage of people. Hoping there's alternatives. So it's a tough decision. Thanks for the train connections idea. I missed that one.

Again i have a well decked out cruiser. But stopped using it cause it was boring doing level 1 missions and shields only dropping to 95% killing everything at once.
Currently working for Caldari Navy and Propel Dynamics. Rep is .68 and .66 with them. I do mainly command and security missions. I swear it seems like i do 2-4 missions to get Navy standing to go up 0.01 This is what's frustrating me. Maybe i should be doing more story line missions to increase rep quicker i dunno.
Just lost my destroyer to Rexxar Civire. Doing a level 1 mission that sent me to a 0.4 area to kill drones. I entered the system and some dreadnought starts attacking me (not rexxar)i warp to the area to do my mission of killing drones. Complete the mission and head to warp gate and get killed and podded by Rexxar. I look at his standing and what race he is and we're the same. Er if someone goes around killing your own citizens i'd think you'd loose rep with them. A good guy turned pirate? Why POD a newb doing a level 1 quest in the first place? Is there a challenge in that?
I don't think i want to be a pirate if they're all fools like Rexxar.

I just feel that i've not understood or screwed up somewhere with my rep. I've only turned down a few missions and i haven't failed any. But still my rep isn't going up. Most of the agents i use are Caldari Navy mainly cause it's the highest standing i have atm. I have at least 1 agents standing at 10 and a few others getting close to that. Is my problem that i use too many agents from too many different solar stytems? I tend to get bored and go to new/different areas. Still training social here for connections. I've trained int, learning, will, etc etc to rank 3 and stopped at that. I have engineering and electronics at rank 4 and most of my other skills, and i have over 40 are combat oriented, though rank 3 or less. In fact i think i've done a decent job with my training. Not a perfect job but it's a lot better than i thought for what i wish to accomplish.

I think i turned down a few storyline missions but not many. That's why i completed worlds collide twice already or 3 times i forget. I noticed you got quite a bit more rep for doing them. I've never failed on any missions btw. Although i did turn down a few. Does excepting offers in trade for loyalty points mess up rep at all?
Ah thanks guys i finished training social tonight and connections rank 1 a bit ago. Before connections my rep with the navy was 0.71 earlier today and i went mad on just Caldari Navy missions and got it to 0.96 using the higher quality dudes i could find and swapping out to even higher ones soon as they became available. Then connections got done and now i'm at 1.32 Ah very nice i get level 2 missions just like you said. Thanks tons. Now it's time to blow up my cruiser. HAAAR

Edited by: Skith Knoth on 14/11/2006 07:36:41 Sonieli, ah dude i was concentrating on raising my rep with the individuals for the navy. Then leaving when i'm bored for new areas and agents then coming back to the same guy most every day. I wasn't going for highest quality guy and swapping out when a higher one became available. But as above post and your post i finally got it right. Your answer and the connections answer i think are the more correct. Oh and storylines as well. Wish i'd have known that 2 weeks ago. doh

Sharky Balls i was just tired of there only being 6 combat missions available. I was doing the same ones like 4 times a day. BTW having great fun now with theese level II missions. Now i got 22 to choice from so shouldn't have to repeat the same one several times a day. In fact it may be a day or 2 between having to repeat them. That's all i was asking for.
While i may at some point in the game join a player corp it's not something i want to do atm. After so many MMORPG games and eing in guilds i just want to be by myself yet still meet cool people and have people lend me a hand when they can. And thanks to all you posters and the dudes in game that have helped me out. I know i'll be missing like 80% of the game by not joining a player corp but maybe in the future. I want to skill up a bit and get a battleship and battlecruiser etc etc first. HAAAAR

Originally by: B1G DAVE Why are you moaning because you are still on lvl I missions after 2 weeks? If you progressed a lvl every 3 days, you would be on lvl IVs right now. And you would have no way of doing that. The idea of taking a hwile to progress through the levels is so that you hopefully gain the eccesary skills to do the next level missions by the time you get enough standing for them.
I had a problem getting Rep thank you. With help it's fixed. Call it moaning if you want. But i want action. Your idea of taking a while to learn the neneccessary skillz for the next level of missions is complete and total garbage. Set your own pace and never let a game dictate the pace. Game has a learning curve and we each learn at different rates. We each are looking for something different out of the game. I am mainly training in combat stuff. Should i be at level IV missions right now. No. Although i may be ready for level III's.
I found it amazing that people would spend most of thier time early in the game training all the non combat stuff to maximize/decrease the learning time for all skillz. I mean it does make sense to do that. However for me i don't want to sit around mining for the next 6 months waiting for skillz to train up. We're all going to go about it in a different way. I don't plan on manufacturing or mining or much of anything else. So for me maximizing my skillz is baesed on what i need right now. Not how good it'll benefit me in the future. No i'm not saying that most people are wrong in the way they're doing it. Far from it in fact. I'm just stressing how i wish to play. Does it mean i may never get a capital ship or that i may regret my decision in the future. It's a very good possibilty. But i seriously can't wait 6 months on training to get one. I won't be here 6 months.
OK so i get a battleship and get podded again. No biggie. I'll just buy another one. I won't be happy but that's life. It's not like i'm uninsured. I know this game most of you are calling PvP. But the game is what you make of it. I'd get there's quite a few playing that never and i mean never PvP. I'm just here to have fun and do what i want to do. I've never been much into PvP in any game. So if i complain about missions it's because it's my #1 thing that i wish to do to have fun. When the missions run out or i get bored of them and or never pvp it's good bye Eve.

day 21 social 3 connections 2
Got level 3 missions just a bit ago. Decided not to get connections 3 since everything seems to be going well now. Almost got enough isk for a BC but need a bit more training. Maybe a day or 2 or 3 til Ferox i'm hoping.
Strange but i've been checking lots of people while playing the game and not many have rep. I'll assume some of them started playing before the npc missions got added. But i swear it's like 90%+ that have lower rep than me now. I know some people just want to mine and or pvp. But isn't it still a good idea to get rep and the missions seem to pay out very well. So i'm a bit confused why hardly anyone is using them or maybe they messed up like i was doing and not using better agents when they became available. Maybe they were like me and couldn't get rep and just gave up. Well the ones that at least tried. I can see a lot of situations where you wouldn't really have to do any npc missions.

Negotiations ya i saw that before but forgot about it. Ty for the reminder i'll get it soon. Got the battle cruiser ferox a few minutes ago. Made plenty isk for it today and i am trained for it. Now my skillz in missles is ok but not sure what to put in the turret spots. Haven't trained much there. But i know i want extremely short range for those 2 spots. Missles suck even with assault launchers when targets are within 2k. So i'll be checking the market but some pointers in that regard would be great. I know the ferox has 10% to medium hybrid turret range. But that's not gonna benefit me for what i want atm.
